Developing a marketing plan for an equipment manufacturer

A global manufacturer of pressure sensing transducers wanted to assess its position in the UK and selected European markets, as part of a major strategic review. Part of this involved an independent examination of the market and customer attitudes towards the use of their products.

Leading Edge was appointed to undertake a thorough investigation of the transducer market, with a particular focus on the environmental and waste water applications. This was achieved through a mixture of desk research, and 110 field interviews with those involved in the purchase and distribution of this equipment.

The findings from the desk research and the field interviews produced a wealth of information about the market. This allowed the consultant to recommend a number of strategies to increase turnover.

A detailed marketing plan was then produced for each sector to highlight the key service areas and product features that would leverage the greatest level of sales.
